There is a lot to do in the province of Murcia. Below are some highlights:
The village of Lo Pagan Is located in the community of San Pedro del Pinatar. This is the beginning of Mar Menor, the largest saltwater lake in Europe.
Here are the well-known and free accessible mud baths. This mud contains many minerals, including calcium and magnesium. Here people often come with long-term complaints such as rheumatism, arthritis and skin conditions.
Lo Pagan's promenade and beaches are about a 20-minute drive from the resort.
Here you can enjoy lovely terraces with good food and delicious drinks and the beaches are child friendly.
Enjoying tasty churros with ice cream on the beach is also highly recommended.
If you want to look up more the crowds, la Zenia Boulevard shopping center is one of the places you can go. This is the largest modern outdoor shopping center in the province of Alicante. With over 150 shops and a multitude of restaurants, bars, live performances and live music, there is also free parking here. For more info: lazenia
From the resort it is about 26 min drive. Tip: do not take a highway but the regular road, here you save some euros in toll surcharge (back and forth). This route is also much more fun and you don't waste much more time with this regular road.
The port city of Cartagena Is certainly also recommended, with its old roman theater- and Conception Castle, the bars, restaurants and museums... You get to the highest point of the city on foot, for the active guests, or with the panoramic lift. Thanks to the panoramic glass cabin, you can enjoy the fantastic views of some of the city's most characteristic buildings. For more info: getyourguide.nl
From the resort it is about 35 min drive.

Beaches (playas).
Cala de las Mulas: 40km from Hacienda Riquelme resort. Beautiful nature with a great coastline of small beaches. Some are used for nude recreation: it is not exactly clear which beaches are used for it.
The Parreño-beach: Is located in Cartagena, 40min from Hacienda Riquelme Resort. It is located in the province of Murcia. With a length of 300 meters and a width of 15 meters, this beautiful beach is distinguished by golden sand and moderate waves.
Beautiful sandy beach, ideal for swimming after a walk in the mountains. Access Is quite difficult via a small gravel path. These beaches are shared with nudist tents.
For those who have already visited Parreño beach, they will certainly consider this description correct: a beach on the Mediterranean with fine golden sand, isolated and quiet, with low occupancy. It has no kind of service whatsoever. It is best to park the car at the Los Belones fountain ( la fuente de los Belones) and walk down 1.1km (16 min walk). The climb is tough, but it is doable along a path that has been around for many years. Ideal for adventurers swimmers.
Negrete-Beach (Playa Negrete): 41 km from Hacienda Riquelme resort. Fantastic beach, great clear water, lots of fish, as it is a nature reserve. Half of the beach is also for nudists (clothing is optional). Definitely worth a trip to one of the beaches in the nature reserve.
Calblanque beach (playa Calblanque): Very nice natural beaches. 41km from Hacienda Riquelme resort. A few minutes drive from La Manga. Good parking. You have to walk a bit to get to the beach. There is no bar or shop, so you have to take everything with you. Recommended to visit.
